Rieck said to the Dayton Daily News in that same year, “Customers in Dayton understand quality, and we work hard to give it. He continued, “It’s unbelievable.” “Dayton loves me just as much as I love him.”
In the 1890s, Herman Rieck established a modest company on Wayne Avenue.
The business erected furnaces and sheet metal roofing all over the city, and Herman Rieck earned a reputation for providing quick service by galloping through the streets on horseback.
After 60 years with the business, Harold Rieck sold his shares in 2015 in order to spend more time with his family and concentrate on his philanthropic efforts.

In 2015, Chief Executive Doug Mayse noted that the Rieck family has been in charge of the company for more than 120 years, starting with Harold’s great-grandfather Herman F. Rieck. Harold is a member of the Rieck family’s fourth generation.
