Nia Talita Long is an American actress who is best known for playing the role of Beullah “Lisa” Wilkes on the NBC sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Throughout her career, she has made a name for herself and has received several accolades, including three NAACP Image Awards and a Black Reel Award.

Nia Long was born to Talita and Doughtry Long in Brooklyn, New York City. Her mother, born Talita Gillman, was of Trinidadian descent. She worked as a teacher and printmaker.

Her father, Doughtry, was a high school teacher and poet. He had another child, Long’s older half-sister, Lori Ann Rambough. Rambough is popularly known as Sommore, and is a  comedian and actress. Sommore has snagged the title, the Diva of Contemporary Comedy.

Talita and Doughtry divorced when Long was two years old. Long moved with her to Iowa City, Iowa, to study fine arts. After getting engaged when Long was seven, Talita moved to South Los Angeles. However, the engagement was called off.
